What time should I arrive?
Gates open at 5.30pm, and the film starts at around 7.15pm (subject to weather conditions and exact timing of sunset on the day). We recommend you arrive as close to 5.30pm as possible to allow time for you to park, find a seat and soak up the atmosphere…live music, street food and bar!
What happens if it rains?
The show must go on! The outdoor cinema will go ahead in the event of bad weather. We recommend you check the weather forecast ahead of time and come prepared. Patrons accept the risk Sotterley Estate will only cancel the screening if the weather conditions present a danger at screening time. In this unlikely event, Sotterley will give as much notice as possible.
Can I bring my own food and alcohol?
Please feel free to bring your own picnic, including soft drinks, but due to licensing, we ask that you refrain from bringing alcohol. We will have two bars set up on the night for you to enjoy. We will also have an array of street food sellers to tempt your taste buds.
Where can I park?
There will be free onsite parking just a short walk from the cinema within the front gates. We will have a lit path for you to return back to your vehicles after the film. We recommend you bring a torch as it will be dark from 7pm and some of the ground can be a little uneven.
Can I bring a dog to the screening?
I’m afraid this is not an event for your four legged friends, out of respect to other film goers we hope you understand.
Will there be toilets at the outdoor cinema?
Yes there will be toilets at the cinema, including accessible toilets.
What are the seating arrangements?
For those who want to watch the film in style, we have a limited number of VIP seats, which include a deck chair, glass of prosecco, box of popcorn and fast access to the bar. Alternatively, general admission is on the lawn and you’re welcome to bring bean bags, cushions, blankets and rugs. You’re also welcome to bring a chair but we will need you to sit behind other patrons to ensure no one’s view is blocked. We will have ushers on the night helping with this.
What is the refund policy?
All ticket purchases for the outdoor cinema are final, and we do not refund tickets for a change of mind or circumstance. Please check all of the event details carefully before booking. In the unlikely event that Sotterley is forced to cancel the event, you will be offered a refund of the ticket price.
We will have a wheelchair viewing area, please contact Sotterley in advance if you require special assistance.
